Today I begin the first of a series of player spotlights on our beloved guild members. I know many players want to know the men behind the avatars, and I plan on bringing it to you. Today we're going to highlight our beloved guild leader, Dissb. You may also know him by his other characters; Jrom and Pottz (aka Sir Puntsalot). I sat down with Dissb early this week for a candid interview, here's how it went down:
===========================================================
Bilby: Well thanks for taking the time to talk to me Dissb, I know many people are looking forward to reading this interview. First off let's ask the obvious question, where did the name Dissb come from?
Dissb: Well that's an easy one Bilby, it stands for Dysfunctional International System of Symbiotic Badgers. You know I have strong foundations in the badger community and my character is a tribute to that resolve.
Bilby: On a scale of 1 to 10 how high are you right now?
Dissb: 12.
Bilby: Fair enough. What would you say is your most used spell rotation on your BW? I know there's a lot of aspiring BW's that want to know.
Dissb: Well I start with Scorched Earth.
Bilby: And after that?
Dissb: No, that's it.
Bilby: Moving along, Which of your characters is your favorite to play?
Dissb: Well I really like the color purple, and I like numbers. So you can imagine how excited I was to find out that when you kill people in Warhammer you get these purple numbers flying across your screen. It was like an orgasm in my mind. But then Mythic at some point takes away the pretty numbers, I have no idea why. So I discovered that if you make a new character you get to SEE THE PRETTY NUMBERS AGAIN. Right now I can only see those pretty numbers on Pottz so he's my favorite.
Bilby: So you have a thing for purple?
Dissb: Yes I do, it stems from an unhealthy sexual fascination with Royalty.
Bilby: So if I told you I was the prince of Canada?
Dissb: I would put out, period.
Bilby: This is uncomfortable now, I'm going to ask another question. So what's the deal with you and being AFK during trash?
Dissb: Why waste my time, when I can get other people to do stuff for me?
Bilby: Good point. Any tips for other AFK hopefuls?
Dissb: Well a child is always a good excuse, I often talk about needing to take care of my "daughter". Or better yet, just leave without saying anything. The key is to be perky when you come back. It gives people the illusion that you actually are helpful and excited to get back to PvE, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of that. I really only show up for boss fights, even then I usually just get my wife to hold down my scorched earth hotkey until the fight is over while I get a smoke.
Bilby: Well I want to say thanks for taking the time to sit down with us.
Dissb: It was my pleasure, so are you like really a Prince? Cause that's kinda hot.
Bilby: Well that will about do it. From everyone here at Irony, stay classy Gorfang.
===========================================================
Seriously though, I want to put a big shout out to Dissb. He puts a lot of work into the guild and is probably one of the best RvR leaders I've worked with. He puts a lot of time into crafting so that any new member who looks at our guild vault goes "HOLY SHIT". His commitment is something that most of us take for granted. I know I for one am not looking forward to the release of Starcraft 2, as it will probably mean bye bye for Dissb.
Here's to one of the best Warhammer has ever seen, the badger, Dissb the BW.
